Our Rules

Entering the Studio

Please pay attention to the sign on the entrance door when you arrive.  This sign indicates whether the studio is vacant or if a class is in session.  The last pose in our Yoga and Aerial Yoga classes is Shivasana which is intended as a deep relaxation pose.  If you enter the studio during this pose it is very disruptive to those trying to relax.  The sign will indicate whether a class is in session or if the studio is free.  If the sign shows a class is in session, please wait outside until one of our staff members let you know the class is over and the studio is available.  We have 15 minutes between each class to allow everyone time to get ready for the next class.

Please leave your shoes at the mats beside the door and place your items in a cubby.  Please don't bring glass containers, take out cups that will leak or sweat, or containers without lids into the studio.  This is to protect others' items in the cubbies as we have had cups leak and ruin mobile phones.

Be advised we provide cubbies for your things while we are in class, but the studio is not responsible for your personal items.

Photography

You are welcome to take photos in our studios as long as the person(s) being photographed consent. Please wait until the end of class to take photos so as not to disturb others in the class.

Open Studio Time

Open Studio time is our version of "Open Gym".  It is intended to give you time to practice moves in the hammock or on the pole.  We will have staff in the studio during these times to ensure safety, however this is not the time to learn new poses or get private sessions.  Please use this time to practice the moves you have learned in your classes or private lessons only.  If the instructor on duty feels that the poses are not being performed safely you will be asked to discontinue practice until you have a better and safer understanding of how to perform that pose.  Only Studio Soar Staff can spot moves.  Do not spot other clients on the pole or in the hammock.  Open Studio time is included in the monthly membership and is available for a small fee for others.  There is no need to reserve a spot during this time and hammocks and poles are availalble on a first come basis.

Yoga and Aerial Yoga

If you arrive late to class and centering (Shivasana or Frog) has already started, you will be asked to come to another class.  Centering allows us to "get in the zone" for the entire practice and it is not fair for other participants to have to wait for latecomers to catch up or to see or hear latecomers setting up while they are already trying to center themselves for their practice.  To prevent this, please try to arrive 15 minutes prior to class, especially if it is your first time in the studio or you will need to pay upon arrival.
