Class Types and Descriptions

We encourage you sign up for class through our class scheduler on line (click on the picture below)  or on your mobile phone using the Mindbody Connect App.  This ensures you have a spot in the class and allows for you to be notified if the class is cancelled or changed.

Please try to arrive 15 minutes early to each class as a courtesy to the instructor and other class participants.  This helps ensure everyone has uninterrupted "centering time" at the start of class.  Also insure that you follow signs posted on the door indicating whether the previous class is still in session or has ended.  All yoga classes end in Shivasana (a quiet relaxing pose) and it is very disruptive to have people entering the studio during this pose.

Aerial Yoga

 Yoga

 Pole Fitness

Aerial Yoga classes utilize a soft fabric hammock connected to the ceiling like a swing.  This allows the students to perform moves that are hard for beginners to do in regular, floor based yoga classes.   The hammock helps support poses while sitting, standing, laying or through inversion (upside down).   All of our classes are tailored to beginners and advanced students through modifications in each pose or movement.

For aerial yoga class we don't allow jewlery or sharp objects ( zippers, crystals, etc.) in the hammocks.  It is best to wear smooth tight fitting  pants/shorts and shirts that adequately cover both the breast and midriff area.  Shirts that cover the armpits are also preferred.

The studio has 12 participant hammocks for your use.  We provide mats for all of our classes or feel free to bring your own if you would like.

Class Types

Aerial Basics - These are classes for the beginners to Aerial Yoga.  The focus is on learning how to work with and trust the hammock, knowing where your body parts are when you are upside down, and how to properly wrap your arms and legs for safety. We cover basic poses and work on upper body strength, hip and heart openers.

Aerial Intermediate - These classes are for those who trust the hammock and are ready for more advanced poses.  We  focus on arm and core strength, balance, and ability to take the basic moves to the next level of intensity. Prerequisite: Aerial Basics proficiency and/or Instructors recommendation.

Yoga is a practice being used by millions of people throughout the world.  We focus on sharing the principles and beliefs in the 8 Limbs of yoga, which include characteristics, virtues, body postures and breath control.  More advanced or specialty classes may include concentration and meditation techniques.  Yoga asana (postures) and breath control (pranayma)  is believed to reduce stress, improve health, enhance athletic performance, and help people recover from injury and illness.  Yoga practioners credit regular yoga with improvement of physical and mental health, spritual well-being and overall increased satisfaction in our crazy, chaotic daily lives.

We provide mats for all of our classes or feel free to bring yours if you would like.

Pole fitness combines strength training with true self empowerment, using a vertcal pole at the center of all exercises.  We honor the skill and strength required to become a true pole artist and teach the techniques which will allow you see and experience the sense of accomplishment and pride in achieving these challenging poses. These classes will include floor work and pole work for various skill levels.

For pole fitness classes, we recommend that you wear short shorts (without snaps or zippers) and sleeveless tops.  Clothing is a safety issue as it is hard to grip the pole without skin to pole contact.  We do not allow high heels on our floors and practices will be done with bare feet.

The studio had 5 poles.  Some classes will be small and intimate with only 5 participants, while in others you may be required to share a pole or work in "stations".  Regardless of the class you will get individualized attention and will continue to grow in your pole expertise and abilities.
